Finished the Book Cover
I had a few responsibilities to wrap up. A part-time web designer never really gets time off. Once I completed some updates for a client, I remembered that I still need to finish my book cover.
I created the cover for the last book I published using Photoshop. I have since decided I don’t want to pay that much for Adobe projects anymore, but I do have a Canva account now, so I gave it a shot using that.
I was pleased with Canva’s graphic selection and usability. I went to Amazon to get the exact layout needed for a 6×9 book and pulled up a cover I had mocked up months ago. I added a spine and back cover, and it was easy peasy.
I’m pretty happy with how it turned out. When I looked at the cover I created before, I realized I also made a title page with a little heart graphic that matched the cover. Bonus! I added that to my manuscript and smaller versions to the spine and back cover.
I also need to give a shout out to Tutorials by Manizha & Ryan whose video about KDP cover production using Canva made this so easy.
